1.
If we all lose our minds and souls, can we at least lose them together? Let's lose them by land, lose them over seas, and let hindsight never catch up. Let's lose them by land, lose them overseas. Forfeit our bodies whole. So when the states of California and Oregon have fallen victim to the sea, then whats to stop us from pushing our two states together?

I caught you living in high school, high school. I caught you living in high school, high school. Detest it, you wont let it rest though. I caught you living in high school, high school. I caught you living in high school, high school, and that's no way to communicate.

"Rational heat" out in the high seas. That night, no one even noticed. At 10 o'clock, you'd said all you'd ever say, not all you'd ever wonder. "Rational heat" no time to hold out for patents, show me everything you know. Because when they find you in the waters of England, floating lifeless, no one would ever say "when you died, so many died with you". Staying up wondering if its all true. Crossing parallels to get to you. Never gonna know if.

I know sweeping up seems only satisfying for me when there's a lot of things to straighten up. Do you smell a mess? 'Cause I definitely smell a mess. I smell a mess. And I've felt it in my bones that we're getting nowhere, friend.

I boarded a plane with no destination in mind. I hoped for the best and got kicked in the eye. Felt shivers of stress, but I let it ride. I learned all things are just money and time. She asked "where's confidence come from?" I replied, "well here's the rub." Look at those with less: ugly, stupid, and poor. Well, they often do more. I boarded a train, with no track in sight. I was plucked from the wave that broke at first light. Add "fucked from birth" to my reasons why. "Take what you want." Well, I just might She asked "where do bad ideas come from?" I replied, "well, you're no fun." Look back to coach class: ugly, stupid, and poor. Well, don't you want more? I thought this all out well before I arrived. Plan so complete, I factored in the tides. 10,000 feet means little to me. I'll get what I what I want from this life.

about

The bands on this split couldn't really sound less like each other, which I personally think is awesome. END OF A YEAR seems more bent on bumming us out than any other time I've heard them. If you're unfamiliar, they play potent, stylistically awkward Revolution Summer-esque emo, and generally rip.

SHOOK ONES, on the other hand, deliver a handful of short and to-the-point songs that sound, to me at least, like their catchiest material to date. Still super fast, still super melodic, still super poetic.
